The COURSE BOOK consists of 10 units, 8 of which contain new material, while units 5 and 10 revise and consolidate the relevant material contained in the units of the main course.

The structure of each UNIT of the Course Book containing new material is as follows: Each unit is subdivided into several sections where the grammar constructions and vocabulary dealt with in the unit are introduced, followed by texts and assignments to train and develop the language skills.

The Section "THE SKILLS YOU HAVE GAINED" is a summary of the communicative strategies and language skills and presents speech patterns and set phrases covered in the respective unit.

The "COMMUNICATION TRAINING" Section contains assignments on developing communication skills by modelling genuine conversations with Russian counterparts.

The Section "RUSSIA: CULTURE, TRADITIONS, AND FACTS" provides background knowledge important for intercultural communication.

At the end of the Course Book you will find Summing-Up GRAMMATICAL TABLES and the VOCABULARY of the course arranged in alphabetical order, which contains more than 1300 (volume 1) or 1400 (volume 2) words and collocations for active and passive assimilation.

The WORKBOOK is an integral part of the course. It provides necessary training to master the grammar and vocabulary. Each unit of the Workbook contains a GRAMMAR COMMENTARY in English and KEYS to exercises.
